The Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Training (AANCART) is a 5-year program designed to create a national network comprised of community-based organizations, research institutions, government health agencies and the public that promotes opportunities for increased cancer research, cancer research training and cancer awareness among and for Asian Americans. The Vietnamese AANCART-San Francisco site is a regional member of national AANCART and is staffed by researchers from the Vietnamese Community Health Promotion Project at the University of California, San Francisco. The goals of the Vietnamese AANCART-San Francisco site is to develop health educators and junior researchers from 10 different ethnic groups through participation in a Pan-Asian Council and to promote cancer awareness activities and cancer-related research among the 10 ethnic groups in the greater San Francisco Bay Area region. |
